Note: The Auditor's
accounting office keeps payroll registers for
the county's 1,100 paychecks (warrants),
according to Mike Madison. The registers, called
"Abridged Payroll Warrant Registers", are kept
for seven years and are public records. They are
stored electronically in the Auditor's
"Solutions for Government" (SFG) computer data
files. Hardcopy readouts for the monthly
"Abridged
Payroll Warrant
Registers" are
in 81/2" X 14" computer readout format, about 2
inches thick, according to staff. Registers
contain the employee's name, gross pay for the
month, total deductions, and the warrant amount
(paycheck amount) Multiply the paycheck
(warrant) amount by 12 to get the county
employee's annualized salary. For judges and
other highly verbal staff, the state may pay
half the salary, so the county pay amount as
listed may be doubled to nail down their
takehome bucks. YOU are paying those bucks. YOU
are shelling out for the prosecuting attorney's
boat payments. Hey! Wake up! :-)
